RE: The University of California at San Francisco Medical Center & The University of California at San Francisco Children’s Hospital

Patient Care is a large issue all over the world today, there are many improvements that need and should be done.  I am sure there have been times that many of us have been in the hospital or we have had a family member in the hospital and we have not gotten the care we expected to get.  Unfortunately we are not the only ones who have experienced this, there have been many others to experience this exact issue.  When we are sick or a loved one is ill we don’t need the extra stress, so when we are treated rudely or we are handled roughly it makes us feel even worse. No one deserves to have this done to them especially when they aren’t feeling well.
This issue needs to be addressed in a great number of places, there are some places that have already addressed this issue and have worked hard to improve the issue.  One of these places is the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center and the University of California at San Francisco Children’s Hospital.  They have devised a plan to work towards improving this issue and maintaining the improvement.  This plan has three main goals: provide high- quality patient care, improving access to care, and set the highest standards for patient care.  Their patients must get the “safest and highest-quality care” available by their staff.
They have worked hard to achieve this goal, through their experience and clinical research they are always working towards meeting the highest standards.  Chief medical officer, Ernie Ring, says they strive to provide consistent care to their patients 100 percent of the time.  They are always evaluating their performance beside internal standards, benchmarks, reviews, and they also work to make changes that are recommended to them.  These are all done especially to improve care and safety to their patients.  They are often evaluated for their performance by many different services to maintain their performance.
The chief executive officer, Mark Laret, is to thank for all the improvement, he has started this plan from the beginning and now all the departments are involved.  All of their progress and hard work has really paid off, they have gone up in rankings and they have completed many different activities that they weren’t able to complete before.  They now have the bragging rights they deserve, they are ranked number seven in the nation’s top ten hospitals by US News and World Report.  Although they have improved so much in rankings and others high standards the most important is still the patients.  They are better trusted by their patients and they have the satisfaction of being confident to work in helping patients feel better not only by administering medications and other things, but by making the patient feel welcome and as comfortable as the patient can be while still being ill.
